Acme Operator

Responsibilities and duties of the Acme Operator include:

  • Effectively use shop packages to include, but not limited to, manufacturing orders, bills of materials, routings, part prints, job layouts and quality alerts
  • Ensures that only gages and tools that are used are within calibration dates
  • Operates multiple machines simultaneously as required by the routing
  • Sorts and reworks non-conforming parts as required
  • Performs work according to released methods 100% of the time
  • Follows safe working practices and notifies any supervisory personnel or safety team member is an unsafe condition is observed
  • Achieves efficiency targets
  • Produced product to established quality standards and notifies direct supervisor if non-conforming product is found.
  • Participate in SQCD Board meetings as scheduled
  • Performs quality checks per WEOP0855 and associated Inspection Record
  • Demonstrates respectful behavior with all employees
  • Operates with a sense of urgency when required
  • Requests raw materials in a timely manor as needed for production and maintain accuracy of all inventory procedures
  • Understands and follows employee handbook
  • Understands and knows where the Material Safety Data Sheets are located
  • Fills out daily labor cards correctly, completely and timely
  • Is present and punctual according to work schedules
  • Able to develop multiple skills for multiple cells as needed
  • Maintains all surrounding areas for cleanliness, orderliness and organization per established 5S practices
  • Discusses all questions and concerns with direct supervisor in a timely manor

Qualifications for Acme Operator include:

  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and blueprints
  • Write simple correspondence and fill in required quality forms
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Red and properly use measuring devices, such as, micrometers, calipers and other inspection devices as needed
