Responsibilities and Duties

  • Insures nightly backups are executed and completed normally.
  • Support of the XA ERP system.
  • Perform daily EDI processing.
  • Maintain system security.
  • Maintains audit logs.
  • Write or revise user training manuals and IT procedures.
  • Operates, monitors, and controls a midrange computer system and related peripheral equipment such as tape drive, printers, data communications equipment, and personal computers using established procedures to ensure system jobs complete normally.
  • Monitors for error messages and enters commands using a keyboard to correct error and resume operations.
  • Record problems that occur and actions taken to resolve the issue.
  • Load peripheral equipment with selected materials, such as tapes and printer paper.
  • Maintain daily logs.
  • Report printing and distribution.
  • Receives telephone calls and Emails from users concerning problems with computer software, hardware, and printers.
  • Investigated and resolve problems.
  • Job processing.
  • PC setup and configuration.
  • Provide support to PC hardware and software.
  • Printer support on variety of printer types.
  • Write or revise user training manuals and IT procedures.
  • Develop training materials and train users on software and hardware.
  • Monitors video security system to insure proper operation.
  • Participate on new and existing IT projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Knowledge of MicroSoft software products is required.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and know how to use basic hand tools and electronic testing equipment.
  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend technical materials
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Should have skills necessary to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Requires an ability to comprehend problems and logically study them to develop solutions as well as to develop procedures and practices that preclude recurrence.
  • Education in MicroSoft products associated with microcomputers.
  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent in Information technology or business from a two-year college or technical school.
