Responsibilities and duties:

  • Performs work according to released methods 100% of the time
  • Follows safe working practices and notify any supervisory personnel or safety team member if an unsafe condition is observed.
  • Achieves efficiency targets
  • Produces product to established quality standards and notify your direct supervisor if bad product is found.
  • Demonstrates respectful behavior with all employees
  • Operates with a sense of urgency when required.
  • Pull parts as needed for assembly, follow and maintain accuracy of all inventory procedures.
  • Understand and follow employee handbook.
  • Understand and know where the Material Safety Data Sheets are located.
  • Participate in SQCD Board meetings as scheduled
  • Fill out daily labor cards correctly, completely, and timely.
  • Fill out quality forms correctly, completely, and timely.
  • Add pick list / distribution information to Device History records as needed correctly, completely, and timely
  • Be present and punctual according to work schedules (starting time, quitting, rest & clean up periods)
  • Able to develop multiple skills for multiple cells as needed.
  • Maintain all surrounding areas for cleanliness, orderliness and organization per established 5S practices.
  • The employee must frequently and properly lift, lower and carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Discuss all questions and concerns with your direct supervisors in a timely manor.
  • Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Gather correct parts and quantities per order.
  • Moves materials and items from receiving and production areas to storage and to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, or product code.
  • Pull customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, carts or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Records amounts of materials or items distributed.
  • Compiles tickets from customer specifications for product needed.
  • Meets order fill rate and required shipping dates
  • Interface with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Determines method of shipment.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons
  • Assembles shipping containers, applies shrink wrap and banding, and selects pre-assembled containers.
  • Inserts items into containers.
  • Applies identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
  • Posts weights and shipping charges.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Performs and documents preventative maintenance according to released methods 100% of the time

Qualifications:

  • High School Education or equivalent (G.E.D)
  • Two years of shipping experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and blue prints.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and fill in required quality forms.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to safely and properly operate various material handling equipment.
  • Tow Motor certification, preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge required
