Our History
Founded in 1952, Western began as the premier manufacturer of brass welding fittings. By the 1970s, our product line had expanded significantly to include plated medical fittings for healthcare and manifold systems for industrial gas distribution.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Western introduced a complete line of industrial and medical regulators and flowmeters, continuing our tradition of innovation. By 1990, we had launched new product lines including specialty gas regulators, high-purity gas regulators, and helium control systems.
Western significantly impacted the medical industry by introducing our first Valve Integrated Pressure Regulator (VIPR)—a portable oxygen delivery system integrating a regulator directly into the gas cylinder. Since then, VIPR technology has been expanded across other industries, including HVAC, where portable nitrogen systems are now essential tools.
